English and Golf in Scotland
Few other sports are
as synonymous with the business world as that of golf, which offers
international professionals the chance to network, develop business
relationships, and discuss business in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
Delaso welcomes you to Scotland, the home of golf, for a unique and memorable
English and Golf experience on the beautiful Isle of Bute.
Our English and Golf courses offer the perfect combination of daily language
study with golf on an executive 1-to-1 or mini-group basis. Additionally, all
of our English and Golf options are available on a year-round basis.
Each of our English and Golf courses is individually tailored around your
requirements, so you choose where and when you play: mornings, afternoons, or
a combination of both.
Following a detailed pre-course needs analysis and language audit, we will
present you with a draft training programme. Course content is entirely
flexible and can range from general communication skills to the highly
specific.

Flexible Study Programme
You study from 9
a.m. to 12.30 p.m. or from 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. We can also design an
individualised self-study programme (e.g. development of listening, reading,
writing skills, pronunciation, grammar) to complement your face-to-face
classes.
You may also choose to arrange your English and Golf package to have one day
of English tuition followed by one day of golf. This can often be a good
solution on days when the weather takes a turn for the worse.
We always arrange our courses to suit you, so with Delaso each English and
Golf package is unique. We can arrange for professional golf tuition for all
levels of expertise from the novice to the seasoned player. We can also
arrange for lessons for the complete beginner, as well as providing a daily
golfing partner for you.
Our English and Golf playing partners are very popular with clients who study
on an executive 1-to-1 basis. If you choose this option, you will be
transported each day to the course of your choice by your golfing partner who
will play with you during the round of golf. The golfing partner(s) will also
host a sandwich lunch at the club house or local pub/hotel as well as drinks
at the bar (19th hole) after the round. This enables you to relax, meet other
golfers and practise English in a friendly club environment. You will later be
transported back to your accommodation.
English and Golf on the Isle of Bute
All language tuition
takes place on Bute where there are three golf courses for you to choose from:
The Rothesay course, dating from 1892, is an 18-hole course with magnificent
panoramic views over Loch Striven and the Firth of Clyde. The Port Bannatyne
course is a unique and challenging 13-hole course on a hill overlooking Kames
Bay and the Cowal Hills. The third course is the Bute, a 9-hole course in the
south of the island, lying on Stravannan Bay with spectacular sea and mountain
views.

English and Golf on the West Coast of Scotland
Your Delaso English
and Golf course comes with an optional one-day excursion to places of interest
such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ayr and Loch Lomond. However, should you wish us
to arrange for you to spend a day playing on one of the 100 plus golf courses
on the West Coast of Scotland instead, just let us know and we’ll do the rest.

Once-in-a-lifetime Golf
Perhaps you’ve
always wanted to play on a famous championship golf course? As a
once-in-a-lifetime addition to your Delaso English and Golf package, how about
playing a round on one of Turnberry’s world class courses; Ailsa or Kintyre?
The legendary Ailsa course, overlooking the Isle of Arran and the Irish Sea,
will host the British Open in 2009 and has been voted No 1 golf course in the
UK by Golf World which commented on “its clever design, memorable holes,
immaculate conditioning and unparalleled visual…” With its proximity to the
sea and spectacular views, it offers some of the most challenging and exciting
links golf in the world.
This luxury, full-day option is not included in our English & Golf course
costs. Depending on the time of year, an additional cost of £350 - £500 for
this unique experience would be charged. This would include chauffeured car to
and from Turnberry, a round of world class golf, and a gourmet meal at the
luxurious Westin Turnberry Resort - voted ‘Best Hotel in the UK’.

treasure.
